Kristy Dunn

BONNYVILLE - Kristy Dunn is bringing a world of experience to her new role as vice principal at Dr. Bernard Brosseau Middle School.

From teaching in elementary general and special education classrooms to Principal Instructor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta, Dunn has a wealth of knowledge to share with Lakeland Catholic.

Dunn is a familiar face at the school division, collaborating with Lakeland Catholic to train staff in literacy and the delivery of reading intervention.

“I am excited to be back in the school system, working directly with students and staff in my new role as vice principal. I look forward to developing my leadership skills in this capacity, and I feel that I can make a difference in the school community,” expressed Dunn. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my past collaboration with schools and already feel at home at Lakeland Catholic.”

There are many reasons why Dunn loves Catholic education, highlighting the inclusive and caring school environments that foster a love of learning and inclusiveness, as well as the way it “engages us not only to excel academically and socially but also encourages us to understand ourselves spiritually through a strong faith-based and integrated approach.”

In addition to earning her Master’s and Ph.D. in Special Education in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta, Dunn is also a published author of educational research and teaching resources with Pearson Education, and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta.

The mother of two is a life-long learner, avid traveler, and Edmonton Oilers fan.
