LAC LA BICHE - Carmen Semeniuk is ready to enter the 2024-25 school year with a new title: vice principal.
After five years of serving as principal at Light of Christ Catholic School, Semeniuk is ready for a change.
“I am thrilled to continue to be a part of this amazing school community in a new role that will allow me to keep serving our students and staff.”
Semeniuk will be joining current vice principal Zach Staff, while Rod Kornelsen will step into the role of principal.
The title of vice principal is not new the Semeniuk, who served in this position in 2018, just two years after joining Light of Christ as a teacher in 2016, when it opened.
Working in Catholic education holds a special place in Semeniuk’s heart.
She said, “It’s the feeling of students knowing their value in being a child of God and knowing they have a purpose and having the confidence and light to share their gifts with everyone around them.”
Over the years, Semeniuk has loved witnessing the successes of students, staff, and families at Light of Christ, whether it was academic, social, or spiritual.
Semeniuk has been working in education since 2009, starting as a teacher for another school division. She joined Lakeland Catholic Schools when Light of Christ opened its doors in 2016.
This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
